Facebook Wants to Listen to Your Phone Calls

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars
November 27, 2013
Cellphone users who attempt to install the Facebook Messenger app are asked to agree to terms of service that allow the social networking giant to use the microphone on their device to record audio at any time without their permission.
As the screenshot above illustrates (click for enlargement), users are made to accept an agreement that allows Facebook to “record audio with the microphone….at any time without your confirmation.”
The TOS also authorizes Facebook to take videos and pictures using the phone’s camera at any time without permission, as well as directly calling numbers, again without permission, that could incur charges.
But wait, there’s more! Facebook can also “read your phone’s call log” and “read data about contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you’ve called, emailed or communicated in other ways with specific individuals.”
Although most apps on Android and Apple devices include similar terms to those pictured above, this is easily the most privacy-busting set of mandates we’ve seen so far.
Since the vast majority of people will agree to these terms without even reading them, cellphone users are agreeing to let Facebook monitor them 24/7, green lighting the kind of open ended wiretap that would make even the NSA jealous.
Other app companies are also requiring you to allow them to approximate your location, send SMS messages from your phone that cost you money, read your contacts, read your phone status and identity, get “full network access” to your communications (in other words listen to your phone calls), modify or delete the contents of your USB storage, and disable your screen lock (the 4 digit code that password-protects your phone).
As we have previously highlighted, embedded microphones in everything from Xbox Kinect consoles to high-tech street lights that can record private conversations in real time represent the final nail in the coffin of privacy as the ‘Internet of things’ becomes a part of our daily lives.

Half-Blind Woman Crippled With Back Pain Killed Herself After Benefits Bosses Stopped Her Disability Payments - Following a TWO MINUTE Assessment

  • Jacqueline Harris, 53, was told she was fit to return to work

  • Widow was partially sighted and only able to walk with the aid of sticks

  • Christine Norman claims benefits ruling drove her sister to kill herself

A partially-sighted woman who suffered crippling back pain killed herself after her disability benefits were stopped following an assessment lasting just two minutes, it has been claimed.

Despite being in almost constant agony, Jacqueline Harris, 53, was told she was told fit for work in November 2012 following a Government health assessment.

Ms Harris's sister claims that the ruling drove the former nurse, from Kingswood, Bristol, to take her own life.

Widow Ms Harris was only able to walk with the aid of sticks after she suffered slipped discs in her back and neck.

She was also unable to use one wrist properly after she was later attacked by a dog.

Her sister Christine Norman, 57, says arthritic Ms Harris was asked just one question in the 'lightning-speed assessment', carried out by private firm Atos Healthcare.

Mrs Norman said: 'They asked her one question - "Did you get here by bus?".

'Jacqueline replied with one fateful word - "yes".
'She hadn't even had the chance to take her coat off.

'Jacqueline said couldn't do it anymore and that no-one was listening to her and no-one cared. She told me she couldn't work and that nobody believed her.

'She just wanted her benefit so she could have avoided the pressure of work - it wasn't a massive amount of money.'
Ms Harris suffered from arthritis in her neck and back and her pain worsened after an unsuccessful operation on her neck last year.

She was left in agony every time one of her arms was touched, while bones from her hand had to be removed after she was attacked by a dog.

Anger: Christine Norman says her sister Ms Harris committed suicide after being put under pressure by the Government to return to work

Ms Harris had received incapacity benefit but late last year was asked to attend a fitness-to-work assessment in order to claim its replacement - Employment and Support Allowance.

After she spent two hours struggling on two different buses to get to the centre run by Atos Healthcare her appointment lasted just two minutes.

In January her benefits were stopped.

A CHANGE IN GOVERNMENT WELFARE REFORM

Personal Independence Payments (PIPs) replaced the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) as part of the government's welfare reforms.
Under DLA, most people filled in their own application forms, and did not have to re-apply for the benefit, even if their circumstances changed.
The government claimed PIPs would see resources delivered to those who need it most - as money would be distributed more fairly.
But one charity warned almost a fifth of claimants - 600,000 people - could be in danger of losing their benefits as they would be put through strict in-person tests.
Since April new claimants in the north of England were told to apply for PIPs. By October new claimants of working age in the rest of the country were told to apply for the new benefit rather than a DLA.
The government began to re-assess existing DLA claimants last month, but only those whose circumstances changed.
A majority of the 3.2 million people who claimed DLA will not be re-assessed until 2015 or later.
Mrs Norman, a nurse, said: 'If she was addicted to alcohol or drugs, she would have been given a sick note.

'Being a nurse and a health professional I am so disappointed - anyone could see she wasn't fit to work. She would have loved to have had a job but couldn't.

'How much grief, pain and anguish do you have to go through before they realise?'

It is believed she was later then reassessed after coming forward with additional evidence of her condition, and was found to be eligible for Employment Support Allowance. She was placed in a category of people who receive the allowance, and who one day - with support - may be able to return to work.

But Ms Harris had contested the ruling and her first appeal against the decision failed.

A second Department for Work and Pensions tribunal hearing in Cardiff was due to take place on November 15.

However, Ms Harris was found dead at her home on November 2, having taken a suspected overdose.

Paying tribute to her sister, who lost her husband Brian six years ago, Mrs Norman said: 'She was gregarious and loved dogs, and music and to boogie as much as her back would allow.

An inquest into Ms Harris' death has been opened and adjourned.

A Department for Work and Pensions spokeswoman said: 'Our sympathy goes out to the family of Mrs Harris.
' ‪ A decision on whether someone is well enough to work is taken following a thorough assessment which takes into account the WCA and all supporting medical evidence provided by the claimant. ‬

‪'Often claimants come forward later with additional evidence, in which case we will look at their claim again or people can also appeal.‬

'Someone placed in the work-related activity group for ESA is not considered fit for work at the moment, nor are they expected to look for work.‬'

An Atos spokeswoman said: 'Our sympathies go out to Ms Harris's family.

'Atos Healthcare carries out assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions and under its guidelines.
'But we do not make decisions on people's benefit entitlement, nor are we involved in the appeal process.'

Nearly £1 Billion of UK Student Loans to be Sold Off to Private Debt Collectors and Overseen by Rothschilds

University Of Birmingham Hold Degree Congregations
The loans were made to students who enrolled at universities in the 1990s

Nearly £1bn of student loans will be offloaded by the Government to a private debt collection agency today in a move likely to stoke renewed controversy over coalition sell-offs.
Sky News can reveal that ministers will announce to the London Stock Exchange that the Government has agreed a deal to privatise a £900m portfolio of loans made to students who were enrolled at universities during the 1990s.
The disposal, to a debt recovery specialist, will be for a fraction of the debts' face value, and encompasses mortgage-style loans that are the last of their kind still in public ownership.
The sale, which does not include Income Contingent Repayment loans like the ones currently offered, comes as student groups step up their protest over the disposal of the loan portfolios.
The coalition is drawing up plans to sell the entire outstanding student loan-book, which has a face value of roughly £40bn.
Investment bankers from Barclays and Rothschild were appointed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) last month to oversee the sale, which more than 15,000 people have signed an online petition to oppose.
Danny Alexander, the chief secretary to the Treasury, said during the summer that the Government hoped to raise £10bn from the sale of corporate and financial assets such as the student loan book by 2020.

    David Willetts
David Willetts said the sale would help balance the nation's books

Speaking in March, when the mortgage-style student loan auction was initiated, David Willetts, the universities and science minister, said: "Selling the remaining mortgage-style student loans will allow us to reduce public debt and maximise the value of one of the Government's assets.
"The private sector's expertise makes it well-placed to collect this debt and the sale will also help the Student Loans Company (SLC) to concentrate on providing loans to current students."
The low recovery rate on the 1990s loans means the sale price is likely to be only in the tens of millions of pounds, reflecting the distressed nature of the debts, people close to the situation said on Sunday.
The deal will come at a sensitive time, just weeks after Royal Mail was floated with a valuation of £3.3bn.
On Wednesday, Royal Mail will present its maiden results as a listed company, while Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, will make a further appearance before the BIS Select Committee amid allegations that the postal operator was sold too cheaply.
The Government insisted that bidders for the £900m loan portfolio, which was given the codename Project Ariel, would be assessed against a strict set of criteria, although it did not say publicly what these would be.
It added that the terms and conditions for borrowers whose loans were included in the sale would not change.
The mortgage-style loans were available between 1990 and 1998, with two tranches sold in 1998 and 1999. Repayments on them can be deferred for a year at a time if borrowers' income is below 85% of the national average earnings.
"The remaining loans owned by the Government are mostly in deferment or in arrears, so total annual repayments are low," BIS said in March, adding that it was likely to receive significantly less than £900m from a buyer.
A BIS spokeswoman declined to comment while the Student Loans Company referred questions to the Government.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, which has been handling the auction, also declined to comment.

Flu Shot Propaganda in Full Swing for Holiday Season; Flu Shots Still Contain Mercury

(NaturalNews) It must be the winter holiday season, because the push to poison Americans with flu shots is once again in full force.

And, as usual, they are being sold as the ultimate public health and public safety tool, even though predicting which strain of flu is going to hit this year is a bit like guessing Powerball numbers.

But no matter. The call has gone out far and wide: "Get your flu shot now! Protect yourself! Hurry - time's-a-wastin'!"

    Cue the fearmongering

As reported by Newsday on Nov. 14, under the headline, "Be Thankful and Get a Flu Shot Now":

Thanksgiving is a week from Thursday, so you might want to put getting a flu shot at the top of your to-do list if you plan to be with family and friends for the holiday. For those who haven't gotten the vaccine yet, it's even more crucial if you expect to be mingling with a crowd of sneezing, coughing shoppers at the malls, hunting for bargains on Black Friday.

None of this, of course, comes without the required fearmongering, from no less than "official" government sources:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that adults 65 and older get a flu shot each year because seniors are at the greatest risk of serious complications if they get the virus. Since it takes about 10 days to build up immunity after receiving a flu shot, getting vaccinated now should protect you through the entire holiday season.

They are even making it easier than ever to get the poisonous flu shot. You no longer have to go to your doctor's office or the county clinic; you can visit any number of retailers with pharmacies like Walgreen's, RiteAid and Target for your shot.

And, of course, if you happen to have a cash flow problem, well, the government's got a solution for that, too:

Flu shots are covered by Medicare and many private health insurance plans. In most cases, you will have little to no out-of-pocket costs. Still, call the site first to make sure it has the vaccine available and ask whether your insurance will be accepted.

What is not being told to the general public is this: Flu vaccines still contain mercury, which is a neurotoxin.

Now, the "medical establishment" and the government have pooh-poohed this fact, brushing it off as a wild conspiracy theory. But in truth, study after study has shown that even the trace amounts of mercury-containing thimerosal, which is found in flu shots, can be harmful.

'Mercury is known to cause serious harm'

In 2011, the Coalition for Mercury-free Drugs published details of a Brazilian study that confirmed what earlier studies had shown:

Yet another peer-reviewed, scientific study proving the connection between the mercury in medicine and human illnesses has just been released. The latest study is the sixth one published in recent months. This report specifically examines the harm inflicted on developing fetuses and children by Thimerosal, a mercury-based compound routinely used as a preservative in flu shots.

The study's author, Dr. Jose Dorea, reviewed the published science which demonstrates that infant exposure to the amount of thimerosal in vaccines is toxic to human brain cells.

"Mercury is known to cause serious harm, especially to fetuses and children because of their smaller size," said Rev. Lisa Sykes, President of CoMeD and mother of a mercury-poisoned child. "Why remove Thimerosal from pediatric vaccines only to inject it into pregnant women and children with recommended flu shots? They removed Thimerosal from other vaccines, so it should also be removed from flu shots."

Juxtaposed JFK Assassination Photos with Contemporary Dallas

Today, November 22, 1963, is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas. Photographer Doug McCluer has created a striking series of photographs in which he recreates scenes from the assassination in contemporary Dallas.

McCluer has taken original snapshots from the JFK assassination and juxtaposed them with in their original locations. In the first photo, McCluer holds up a black and white image of Jacqueline Kennedy climbing up on the presidential limo after her husband was shot in Dallas on November 22, 1963 — exactly 50 years ago today.

The comparison between the events of that tragic day with the quiet Dallas street scenes fifty years later creates striking images that are both poignant and heartbreaking. It is considered one of the most important events in the United States as it changed the course of history forever.

David Icke to Launch TV and Radio Station to Tackle 'Issues Ignored by Mainstream Media'

    Euan Stretch - Daily Mirror
David Icke: Man of the people

David Icke: Man of the people

Self-styled prophet David Icke is launching his own TV and radio station.
The ex-BBC sports presenter says TVP – The People’s Voice – will “tackle issues ignored by the mainstream media”.
He raised £300,000 to fund the station and says actor Keith Allen and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell will be contributors.
In 1991, Mr Icke, 61, became a figure of national scorn in 1991 after holding a press conference announcing the world would soon end - he later appeared on Wogans and claimed he was the son of God.
Later, Icke described the Queen as a “reptilian shape-shifter in human form”.
In an interview promoting his new station, he said: “The voice that we hear constantly is that of the authorities, the establishment, the government and increasingly today, the corporations.
    “The people’s voice? Silence.
“We want to redress that balance big time, with a global television and radio station, broadcasting out of London, 24/7.
“The information, the background and opinions the main stream media would not touch.
“We want reporters in press conferences asking the questions that main stream media would not dream of asking, in fact, would be terrified of asking.”
He added: “The potential, once you have that amount of airtime, without censorship where you can go, what you can cover is just limited only by imagination.”
The station will be launched on Monday.

Dallas Sheriff’s Deputies Assault Free Speech Activists, Punch Alex Jones

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Infowars
    November 22, 2013
Dallas Sheriff’s deputies violently assaulted free speech activists during the JFK 50th anniversary event, punching peaceful protesters including radio host Alex Jones in shocking scenes caught on live streaming video.
Protesters were peacefully assembled outside a barricade in downtown Dallas near the site of the official commemoration of JFK.
The barricades were opened and almost out of nowhere, Sheriff’s deputies marched through and forcefully pushed protesters back, with several being violently assaulted, including radio host Alex Jones who was punched in the stomach.
One of the victims of the violence was a father with his young daughter on his shoulders. The girl began crying, but was pulled to safety by her mother.
The police were working on behalf of the Sheriff’s department and also appeared to have been coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security.
Protesters chanted “shame on you” and began to push back against the police who then held their line.
The activists had been assured, under threat of lawsuit, that they would be given access to the area beyond the barricades after the official ceremony was over.
Regular Dallas police who appeared largely friendly before the incident began seemed surprised when the black-clad Sheriff’s cops arrived to instigate the violence.
Alex Jones immediately vowed to file lawsuits against both Dallas authorities and individual police officers who took part in the assault.
Protesters had gathered at the site to peacefully demonstrate against an order by Mayor Mike Rawlings to target individuals who handed out fliers or displayed signs in the area.
More videos and images will be added to this story soon.

Man Records Crickets and Slows Down Track, Sounds Like a Choir of Angels Singing

Composer Jim Wilson has recorded the sound of crickets and then slowed down the recording, revealing something so amazing. The crickets sound like they are singing the most angelic chorus in perfect harmony. Though it sounds like human voices, everything you hear in the recording is the crickets themselves.
The recording contains two tracks played at the same time: The first is the natural sound of crickets played at regular speed, and the second is the slowed down version of crickets’ voices.
“I discovered that when I slowed down this recording to various levels, this simple familiar sound began to morph into something very mystic and complex……..almost human.”
You can purchase a copy of the recording, called God’s Chorus of Crickets, here. [Thanks Laura for the tip!]

Dallas Police Ban Free Speech in Dealey Plaza, Threaten Arrests

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Infowars
    November 21, 2013
Dallas Police have banned free speech in Dealey Plaza for the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK, threatening to fine people if they hand out fliers or display signs within a 75 feet radius of all major roads in the area.
Authorities claim the handing out of fliers or displaying of signs represents a violation of two city ordinances. Activists are of a different opinion, believing that the First Amendment trumps any such ordinance.
Mainstream media and other press outlets who will be regurgitating the official narrative behind the death of JFK are not subject to the same draconian measures and have been granted free access to Dealey Plaza. There isn’t even a “free speech zone” in which ordinary Americans can voice their opinion.
During a confrontation with Dallas Police last night, Alex Jones and assembled free speech activists were told they would be ticketed if they exercised their First Amendment. Protesters chanted, “hell no, we won’t go!” as police left the scene.
After the confrontation, Alex Jones left the area but activists who remained as well as Infowars cameraman Rob Dew overheard Dallas police discussing plans to arrest the radio host. Police in riot gear subsequently arrived as part of an effort to intimidate protesters.
Jones has made it clear that he will stand against Americans being treated like pro-democracy protesters at Tiananmen Square, and will file a lawsuit against Dallas Police for violating his constitutional rights if they attempt to stop people from exercising their free speech.
Alex Jones and fellow free speech activists will meet at Ferris Plaza Park, 400 S. Houston Street, and march north to Dealey Plaza at 4pm today.
Tomorrow at 11am, activists will meet at Belo Garden, 1014 Main Street and march west to Dealey Plaza.
View more videos below and check out the live UStream for today’s protest march.

    Experiencing Grace

    Ida Lawrence,
    Contributor - Waking Times

“The intensity of your need calls what is needed to you.” Do you believe that statement? To me, it has
shown itself to be true a few, remarkable times. Of course it requires that we remain open, because the ego’s need, or the intellect’s need, or the emotion’s need might not correspond with the true need. It is the energy/information/feeling of us that informs the universe of our true need.
So… we may not be fully aware of what our heart has called for, and it may come to us in a completely different form than what we have sought, or what our opinion tells us we are suited for, or even what we are ‘supposed’ to want. If we are open, we’ll recognize it… a way is a way, love is love. Usually, if we accept that a need is being fulfilled, and we are willing to experience it, we’ll know also that this must lead to change… sometimes a great deal of change.
When I started this writing I was thinking about change, and my mind was on the words ‘satisfaction and dissatisfaction’. There is a story I’ve heard about a time in the past, when a great number of people were dissatisfied with their administration. When the dissatisfaction reached 70% of the population, the seed of a new way was conceived in one person, and from there it spread until it reached thousands.
The new way was born, and eventually it displaced the old way. Unfortunately, the new way wasn’t any more satisfying than the old. It was seemingly the opposite of the old, and so therefore conceived as a solution, but somehow it became almost the shadow self of, or dark side of the old.
So that takes me to wondering… what are the ways of producing change? It appears that one way would be the attracting power of true need arising from one’s energy/information/feeling. We can refer to this one as ‘call and response’. The other way would be the reaction and solution of one’s intellect/emotion/opinion, which we’ll refer to as ‘best laid plan’.
The intellect works within the problem, reaction, solution world. We conceive of an idea, make plans, gather information, determine what is needed, and get to work. We believe that if we work hard enough, and long enough, and plan well enough we can bring about a change. Sometimes we succeed, and as we settle in to our solution, the work begins on keeping it from becoming corrupted. Corruption: it’s the ‘wherever you go there you are’ problem.
The obvious answer is talked about all the time… change you. Change what you trust, change what you align to, change what you dedicate yourself to. Overcoming the world really means overcoming the self-discouraging voices in your head, put there by conditioning and programming.
Our journey is to become, or return to, our true selves. Although we talk about this a great deal, many of us are really challenged by it. We are challenged by loving ourselves as we are, and trusting where transformative work takes us. We have been battered, I must confess. I see it in myself and see it in others all the time. Beloved damaged humans. Tears well up as I say this… and a prayer of gratitude for those magical times when the universe has responded to my, and your, true needs.
Well… back to the subject. Spirit takes up where intellect and the ‘best laid plan’ leaves off. That’s why the heart’s ‘call and response’, arriving in your life, can seem so magical and make such a profound difference.
When an opportunity that suits our evolution offers itself to us, taking it on indicates trust in something beyond the mind. We’ll know that we’re leaving the old, crossing the river so to speak, accepting that when we step off the ferry we’ll be met with challenges. But we step up to it because we feel the fit in our heart. Yes, I called, and yes, the universe came with a gift… one I never envisioned, one I could not have imagined, and yet I trust it.
Moving from reliance on the intellect and the ego’s opinion to reliance on the intuitive, perceptive, feeling response is what the journey is about.
How do we change and what do we change? We change the energy of us, which is the information of us, which is the ‘feeling’ of us.
And if we wish to experience ‘call and response’, how do we recognize it when it comes and not overrule it with reason? How do we find the courage to act upon it? Trust… this is the key to stepping off from where you are to where you have never been. Trust in the wisdom of the heart, trust in your true self and then utilize staying power.
I’m including a song for you. It’s an old song about a river crossing that brings about great change. The harmonic is melancholy… and I have no problem with melancholy. To me it is a prayerful chamber in the heart, a believing and knowing place. To visit there and contemplate is to accept for a brief moment that this, too, is part of our true self and its feeling in the earth plane.
We are changing… and we are experiencing Grace. Love yourself… trust yourself… trust that the ferry is very familiar with the river crossing. The new way of being that we approach reaches far beyond problem, reaction, solution into the realm of all possibilities.
